Power of Youth Awards Grants to Local Nonprofits at the Porter County Fair

The Power of Youth is a group of students representing all high schools in Porter County who are passionate about serving the community around them. On July 28, 2010, they awarded four nonprofit organizations grants to aid with their causes and programs. The recipients were the Portage Township YMCA, Discoveries Unlimited, Valparaiso Parks and Recreation, and the Visiting Nurses Association. |

We want to help others to believe that they can pursue their dreams. Will you help us? We are serving as many communities as possible. We have produced corporate level websites for small businesses, churches, small local governments FREE of charge. We've helped students from the Dropout Epidemic, helped adults get their GED's, taught career building advanced technology in underdeveloped areas, restored old historic buildings and cleaned polluted highways and creeks, because it was the right thing to do to build communities. We've also recruited people from the community to give back to their own by developing and supporting several community based video, music and animation projects. "Come as you are as a friend..." Nirvana We had just written a grant and business overview for a new nonprofit serving a nearby county in North Carolina, we had a camera, music and one too many cups of coffee and I said let's shoot. Really! In only one take -- there you have it. We hope you enjoy and find inspiration to help others wherever you are on the planet. You have support and allies unknown - they dwell in places where HOPE forever roams. |

Documentary Film for Nonprofit Awareness: A Presentation...

Lexington, KY--- Prosper Media Group, Inc. & NLMDA Pictures began pre-production coordination and fundraising for a documentary film project entitled kNOw MORE Nonprofits. The film will educate audiences using dramatic real-life scenarios surrounding a middle-income family of four when they awake to a day without nonprofit services. A coalition with members from agencies throughout Kentucky have come together to develop and promote the concept. Unprecedented in scope, the production breaks new ground by creating a virtual world in which a communitys lives are turned upside down. During a recent meeting of nonprofit agencies at the capital, the question was asked, What would happen to our communities if all nonprofits closed their doors? As nonprofits serve to improve the quality of peoples lives, who would step forward if all agencies closed? Who would feed the homeless, care for the elderly, provide health services, protect our homes, or educate our children? Long-term, the film aims to create an ongoing awareness campaign for nonprofit agencies throughout Kentucky and the US The kNOw More Nonprofits Consortium is looking to public television, the Internet, an international film festival tour and DVD video as distribution channels. |
