Dragon - Rain (1983)
|
Music from Australia and New Zealand in the year 1983: Dragon's promo-video for the hit single 'Rain' (August, 1983) taken from the 1983 album 'The Body & The Beat'. After a four year hiatus (Marc Hunter's solo success and Todd Hunter's guitar duties in XL Capris), Dragon made a comeback with the hit single 'Rain' - penned by Todd Hunter and his wife Joanna Pigott (XL Capris singer). Other members of the new Dragon included Terry Chambers of UK band XTC on drums. Sadly, the band's main songwriter and keyboardist Paul Hewson was to die of a herion overdoes less than 18 months later. Note: Kerry Jacobson played drums on this track before quitting Dragon. XTC's Terry Chambers replaced Jacobson around the time this clip was shot. Chambers is playing drums in the video to a track that was originally recorded by Jacobson - just to clear mattes up. In the Marmalade forest (forest), between the make believe trees, in a cottage cheese cottage! Lives Albie, (Albie,) Albie, (Albie,) Albie the Racist Dragon - Part Six... And so all of the villagers chased Albie the racist dragon, into a very cold and very scary cave. It was so dark and so scary there that Albie began to cry. Dragon tears, which as we all know turn into jellybeans! Just then, he felt a tiny hand on his tail, and he turned around and who should it be, but the badly burned Albanian boy from the day before. What are you doing? I thought I killed you! Grumbled Albie, quite racistly... No...no! Albie, you didn't kill me with your dragon flames. I crawled to safety, but I was left very badly disfigured... Laughed the boy. Why are you crying, Albie? Well, all the villagers chased me into this scary cave. I think it's because I'm soooo racist...get your hand off my tail. You'll make it dirty. They didn't chase you here because of your racism. They chased me here too when I became all disfigured like this. They just don't like us because... because we're different to them. And at that Albie cried a single tear which turned into a jellybean all the colors of the rainbow! And suddenly...Albie wasn't racist anymore!!! The Last Dragon

If you're ever in a theater in Harlem and some wild-eyed giant in flashy clothes starts running his mouth off to a soft spoken, bruce lee dressed little guy... my advice is not to rush the giant (he will kill you) (and you will've deserved it). Just sit back and watch because this is: THE LAST DRAGON Anyone else see this when it was in theaters? Personally, I suspect this trailer gives away too much, but what can you do? |
